Farmers' Market 2024 Report

​Nourishing Hancock County since 2005

  • Over 1,130 hours were given to the farmers’ market by volunteers who support the aims of the farmers’ market.

  • United Way of Hancock County recorded $14,364 worth of non-cash transactions on behalf of the member/vendors of the farmers’ market.

  • ​More than $2,553 in SNAP sales were made, ensuring fresh, healthy food for everyone.

  • Thirty-eight small businesses were supported, including 14 farmers, gardeners, and produce growers.

  • Outreach was provided by 15 community organizations on 3rd Thursdays.

  • In partnership with Blanchard Valley Health System, 513 youth ages 4 through 15 received tokens to select and purchase their own produce, which was graciously administered by Blanchard Valley Health System Ambassadors.

  • Blanchard Valley Health System provided 2,000 reusable shopping bags.

  • Ohio State University Extension of Hancock County supported Power of Produce and the market community with recipe samples, education, and children’s activities.

  • United Way acted as the fiscal agent for the farmers’ market and provided equipment to accept the Ohio Direction Card.

  • Habitat for Humanity Financial Opportunity Center made it possible for transactions to happen in real time at the market with an internet connection.

  • There were over 8,500 visits to the market in 2024. We appreciate that so many people in the community choose local farms and small businesses.
